Why Givenchy's Le Rouge Lipstick Is My Go-To This Spring
A dusty rose shade for all occasions.
I’m someone who completely changes up my skincare and beauty routine in time for spring and summer. Living in Hong Kong, the intense humidity makes it difficult for makeup to actually stay on your face, so I try to keep it simple. I’ve always loved wearing lipstick, but wearing it out and about during the summer heat is a disaster waiting to happen. At least that’s what I thought before I came across Givenchy‘s Le Rouge lipstick.
After getting a first look at the brand’s Le Rouge Sculpt lipstick a few months ago, I decided to go check out what else the brand had to offer. To my surprise, it turned out that the long-lasting lipstick formula comes in a total of 40 shades. Yes, you read that right. I purchased one of my own, still sceptical as to if I’d be able to wear it during the six months of gassing heat, and decided to try it out. I chose the “Brun Creatéur” shade, which is a dusty rose hue with slight brown undertones, perfect for a day-to-day look. After wearing it for a day, I was surprised to say that it might have become my new favorite beauty product. The ultra-smooth formula stays on forever – even after eating a full meal. Even as it begins to wear away, the semi-matte product leaves a colored hue on your lips, giving an illusion that you’re still wearing lipstick. Plus, the packaging is ultra-luxurious.
Retailing at a steep $37 USD, you can cop the lipstick in 40 shades over at Sephora. If you’re looking to invest in a good lipstick that you can wear all day long, this is it.
