Take a Closer Look at Nike's Futuristic React Element 87
The new age runner is releasing soon.
Back in March, UNDERCOVER and Nike unveiled a React Element 87 sneaker collaboration at Paris Fashion Week. The silhouettes arrived in an array of vibrant colorways which included primary colors and splashes of contrasting hues. Today, the sportswear brand releases a closer look at the Summer and Fall 2018 models of the previously unveiled design.
In the imagery, four colorways are revealed. One includes a black and white upper, another comes in white with maroon detailing. The third pair features black with red stitching, while the last pair arrives with grey, deep pink and white accents.
Nike’s special projects design team notes that the React foam technology provided a beginning point for the futuristic design. Up next, the creative team explored drilling the foam to construct an outsole that provides top-tier comfort. Additionally, by drilling the foam, the company found the perfect amount of support one’s foot needs for all-day wear. In total, the drilled foam outsole paired with the React Element 87’s translucent upper presents a technical, new age aesthetic.
Nike’s Epic React Element 87 will be available on June 21 on the SNKRS app in Asia, Latin America and Greater China. In the U.K., the sneakers will be available on the SNKRS app and at select retailers. The sneakers will launch in the United States on July 13 on the SNKRS app and at select stockists.
