Serena Williams Speaks Out Against "Discrimination" Following Frequent Drug Testing
The tennis champion challenges the biased policy.
Serena Williams has spoken out against an unfair policy that has resulted in her being tested more than any other male or female tennis player. Earlier this month, she shared at a post-match conference that she “never knew” that she was being unfairly targeted. A spokeswoman spoke out on Williams behalf calling the testing “invasive and targeted.” Serena recently took to Twitter to voice her own opinion on the matter post Wimbledon. She shared that nap time for her daughter Olympia was the time she designated for random drug testing from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. She writes:
“…and it’s that time of the day to get “randomly” drug tested and only test Serena. Out of all the players it’s been proven I’m the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so. At least I’ll be keeping the sport clean”
Fair treatment seems to be her goal overall. She goes to say she’s willing “to do whatever it takes to have a clean sport.” The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has yet to respond to her thoughts so stay tuned for any developments.
I just put Olympia @OlympiaOhanian to sleep but I can’t seem to put her in bed I’m loving holding her in my arms. I want to milk every second!!!

But I’m ready to do whatever it takes to have a clean sport so bring it on. I’m excited.
