Emily Ratajkowski Is 'Paper' Magazine's September Cover Star

Her profile features a peek into her feminist life.

Emily Ratajkowski has had a monumental past few years. To top off her success-filled business moves, she can now mark another iconic magazine cover off her bucket list. Starring on the September cover of Paper magazine, the model-actress-entrepreneur dons a vintage hairstyle alongside a red Valentino coat and dress.

Shot by Jordan Barrett, the feature focuses on EmRata’s meteoric rise to fame following her role in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video back in 2013. Her journey has been filled with other film roles in addition to launching her swimwear brand, Inamorata Swim last year. Earlier this year she married film producer, Sebastian Bear-McClard, in a small ceremony while wearing a sleek suit, a moment which quickly went viral.

Later in the profile, Ratajkowski expresses that during her younger years, she always had many hobbies. This directly led to her current status as a creative with many interests spanning the entertainment industry and beyond. One of her interests includes owning her sexuality and presenting herself as a feminist amidst the patriarchy which runs rampant in society.

Ratajkowski on embracing what makes her acts of feminism empowering:

“I think that the whole idea that because the body I was given might play into some patriarchal idea, I should be ashamed of it or be covering it up is ridiculous. I find empowerment in celebrating and sharing my sexuality. I think my body is beautiful and a lot of different bodies are beautiful.”

Head to Paper magazine to read the entire feature and to check out the fashion spread.
