Following his long-standing partnership with sportswear giant adidas, Raf Simons is once again teaming up with the Three Stripes for another range of edgy sneakers. This time around, the collection is titled “Trompe L’oeil,” meaning “decieve the eye” in French, and features 3D-inspired graphics and prints throughout. Drawing inspiration from archive silhouettes like the adidas Micropacer, the L.A. Trainer and Torison Conquest Super, old photos of the silhouettes are superimposed on the upper of a classic Stan Smith trainer. The retro aesthetic merges perfectly with the sleek Stan Smith, and of course sports Raf Simons’ signature “R” branding at the lateral.
The collection will release globally sometime in April, but will drop at Paris Fashion Week Men’s Tom Greyhound boutique where they’ll be available until the end of the week.
