'Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint Feels "Quite Protective" Over Former Character
The actor discusses the possibility of playing Ron Weasley again.
The anticipation for the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion special has many reminiscing, including Rupert Grint, who feels super connected to his former character, Ron Weasley.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor admits, “there’s been a lot of talk [about playing Ron again], and I feel like I am that character. I think I had a very strange relationship with him at first, but I feel like there’s a lot of me in there so I’m quite protective of him.”
Joining Grint are former cast mates Emma Watson, who played whip-smart Hermoine Granger, and Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed the titular character, Harry Potter.
“Those movies were our childhoods,” Rupert adds in his interview. “We grew up on those sets so it has incredible meaning to all of us. It’s been 10 years since we wrapped the last movie and we’ve seen each other quite a bit in between that, but not a great deal, so it was great to see them again and talk about it.”
