Ashley Tisdale Learns Her Best Friend Austin Butler Is Her Cousin in the Most Surprising Way
Hilariously awkward since the two have previously played each other’s love interest.
Ashley Tisdale recently learned her best friend Austin Butler is actually related to her.
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum made an appearance on Ancestry’s 2 Lies & A Leaf series, which is where the big revelation was made they are 10th cousins once removed. Tisdale participated in a segment in which she was asked which former co-star she was related to. Her options to choose from were Butler, Zac Efron and Dylan and Cole Sprouse.
“Oh my god,” she said upon learning the options. “I have kissed almost every single one of them. And just so you know, I’ve kissed every single one of ‘em on a show. Not in real life … Dylan, Austin and Zac.”
Before learning which co-star she’s related to, Tisdale went on to explain the close bond she shares with the Elvis star. “Austin and I always say that we’re like fraternal twins born very far apart, ’cause he’s much younger, and we’ve always had that connection,” she said. “So I want to say that, but it’s like what?”
She then proceeded to guess Butler, which was correct.
“Oh my God!” she shouted. “No wonder we have such a connection! We’ve always said we were brother and sister! That is insane. I literally am going to cry.”
