Watch Austin Butler Like You've Never Seen Him Before in Second 'Elvis' Trailer

The actor looks unrecognizable as the King of Rock & Roll.

UPDATE (May 23, 2022): The second official trailer of Elvis has arrived, displaying a whole different side of Austin Butler.

In the teaser clip, Butler looks unrecognizable as he mimics Elvis Presley‘s dance moves, gestures and accent.

The official synopsis for the film reads as follows: “The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).”

Tom Hanks plays Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker, who also narrates the film.

Elvis hits theaters on June 24. Watch the trailer above.

ORIGINAL STORY (February 18, 2022): Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Elvis, and Austin Butler’s resemblance to Elvis Presley is uncanny.

The Baz Luhrmann film is narrated by Tom Hanks, who plays Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The movie will explore Presley’s life in three sections.

While Butler’s appearance drastically changed to resemble the late rock star’s, he also worked towards perfecting his iconic accent. Additionally, Butler sings in the film. “When I began the process, I set out to get my voice to be identical,” Butler told The Hollywood Reporter. “That instills fear. So that got the fire burning. For a year before we started shooting, I was doing voice coaching.”

“I watched as much as I could, over and over,” The Carrie Diaries star said about closely studying Presley’s movies and concert footage. “I feel such a responsibility to Elvis and to [ex-wife] Priscilla and [daughter] Lisa Marie, and all the people around the world who love him so much.”

Get a first look at Butler as Presley in the trailer below. Elvis premieres on June 24.
