For those who aren’t caught up, an unidentified man disguised as an old lady in a wheelchair threw cake at Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece. Thankfully, the piece is protective by a layer of bulletproof glass, which cause no harm to the actual painting. “Think about the Earth. Think about the Earth, there are people who are destroying the Earth. Think about it. All artists think about the Earth. That’s why I did this. Think about the planet,” the man said as he was being escorted out by security.
Dubbed the “Protect the Earth” tee, the silhouette features a front pocket on the left printed with the text, “A Piece of Cake.” Meanwhile, the back boasts a horizontal image of the Mona Lisa smeared with cake frosting. “A photo T-shirt projecting modern society,” #FR2 describes on its website. “Throwing a cake at the Mona Lisa doesn’t protect the Earth at all, but we started pre-ordering it.”
Priced at ¥7,700 JPY (approximately $60 USD), the tee is now available for pre-order on the #FR2 website.
