Burberry Sports Bunny Ears for Playful Year of The Rabbit Collection
Encouraging “confidence, passion and creativity.”
Burberry takes an inspired approach to Chinese New Year as the cheeky collection pushes wearers to “experience the extraordinary to find confidence, passion and creativity,” delivering an effortlessly cool yet carefully considered gathering of rabbit-inspired garments.
Striking graphic prints featuring the cuddlesome creatures adorn elegantly tailored dresses, complete with a chic pussybow accent. The eye-catching design appears on structured longline polo tops and matching leggings, resulting in a carefree yet pulled together ensemble. Varsity jackets continue the collection’s jovial spirit, arriving in the assortment’s strong color palette of bright red and navy blue. On the chest of the spacious outerwear pieces is Burberry’s homage to the Year of the Rabbit. The British brand reinvents its iconic logo, morphing the Thomas Burberry “TB” motif into a playfully kitsch pair of bunny ears.
Accessories are clearly not an after thought in this Lunar New Year collection as quirky hats mirror the familiar floppy ears of the animal being honored. Elevated with a gleaming array of sequins, the headwear is the perfect answer to cold weather fashion. Meanwhile, rabbit ears lovingly form a heart on a flowing scarf, while they peek out from backpacks and are embroidered on the reconstructed Lola handbag.
Burberry’s Year of the Rabbit campaign video, captured by video director Zika Liu and photographer Sky, features actors Qi Xi, Shi Pengyuan and soccer player Zhao Lina, sharing their own personal journeys towards freedom and self-determination.
