Cardi B Starts Off 2023 By Covering Fall Out Boy's "Sugar, We're Goin Down"

Listen here.

Cardi B kept it nostalgic when ringing in the new year. The rapper covered Fall Out Boy‘s “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” at the iE11EVEN nightclub in Miami on New Year’s Eve.

She sang, “Anything you wanna hear/ But that’s just who I am this week/ Lying in bed/ Next to the mausoleum,” with the crowd jamming with her.

One fan shared the video of her singing onto TikTok and added, “Cardi b singing Fall Out Boy first thing after midnight on New Year’s Day is exactly how I wanted to start my year.” Cardi was joined on stage by her husband, Offset, who was hyping her.

Like many of us, the Bronx native is a fan of rock from the early aughts. In March 2022, she tweeted a clip from My Chemical Romance‘s “I’m Not Okay (I Promise).” Cardi wrote at the time, “They don’t make music like this anymore.”
