Stora Skuggan Drops New Scent Inspired by the Ancient Pine Tree
Organic, abundant and enduring.
Stora Skuggan, the Stockholm-based brand known for its unique and unisex fragrances, is launching its eighth perfume offering, dubbed “Pine.” The soliflore fragrance focuses on a single floral aroma, mirroring its name. While the perfume may only be dominated by a particular flower, it incorporates multiple elements of it such as a tree’s sap, its wood and its needles from the forest floor.
“Pines are among the most massive and enduring life forms on Earth. They are the planet’s most abundant organisms by mass, growing as tall as 100 meters, and can live for thousands of years,” the brand said in a press release. “The bristlecone pine Methuselah, for example, is 4,856 years old, while the spruce Old Tjikko in Sweden has a clonal root system that’s over 9,500 years old.” This enduring tree is more than 300 million years old, populating the Earth long before dinosaurs.
