Seadrop Skincare is changing the facial cleanser game with its jar of dry, waterless face wash tablets. Created by Serena Advani, the innovation behind the brand’s Hydrating Seafoam Cleanser is over two years in the making and inspired by her Indian heritage.
Advani’s family has a tradition of making “just-add-water” face masks using a mixture of authentic Indian clay, flour and powders like multani mitti, turmeric and sandalwood. Now she’s remixing that tradition for the masses with dry tablets that you crush in your hand, add a few drops of water and mix together to create a foam to wash your face with.
The brand prides itself on not using artificial preservatives in its vegan, cruelty-free formula, as well as using zero-waste, refillable packaging. Traditional facial cleansers are made up of nearly 90% water, which results in the use of artificial preservatives to keep the product stable as water breeds bacteria, according to the brand.
The hydrating beads are made with plant-based ingredients like oat oil to hydrate the skin, papaya enzyme and kaolin clay to revive dull complexions and blue butterfly pea flower and citrus peel extracts to protect and strengthen the skin’s barrier with their rich antioxidants.
It can be used on all skin types to cleanse off dirt, oil, makeup, sunscreen and more. They’re also a hassle-free way to travel with your skincare without worrying about going over TSA’s carry-on liquid allowance.
