If you’re a chronically online girlie, then you are well aware of Gabbriette. LA-based model, musician and IG chef, Gabriette Bechtel has been the blueprint for grungy makeup for quite some time. Her signature (read: thin) eyebrows and cool-tone lips are peak Brat. So much so that Charli XCX referenced her in her track “360”: “I’m your favorite reference baby, call me Gabbriette.”
Lucky for us, the American It-girl has decided to share her go-to lip combo, courtesy of MAC Cosmetics. Within the limited-edition lip kit, Gabbriette’s set features a lip pencil in Stone, Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in $ellout and Squirt Plumping Gloss Stick in Simulation. Launched to coincide with National Lipstick Day (July 29), we got to chat with the iconoclastic about all things lippies, what she doesn’t care about anymore, Brat and more.
What is your earliest memory of MAC cosmetics?
I was like a mall girlie in middle school. I remember all the cool kids would go to the mall just to hang out. But MAC Cosmetics was always a place for all my friends and I would run into, swatch things and stare at all the amazing makeup artists.
What is unique about your signature MAC lip combo?
I often hear people say they wouldn’t think to pair these three items together even though they’re quite similar and have similar cool tones. Normally, I wouldn’t do three lip things, either. I’m like a go-go-go kind of girl, but these products just work effortlessly together.

What is your number one beauty hack?
I feel like as I’m getting older, I’m caring less and less about the perfection of everything. So, my hack right now is just getting down a good skincare routine and like not giving a sh*t if people think your makeup looks good or not. It’s all about good skincare and just getting ready as fast as you can. My makeup is better when I do it in five minutes than when it’s like an hour-long process. I don’t know if it’s like a hack, but I just don’t… I just don’t care anymore.
If you had to leave your house with just one product from your lip combo set, which one would it be?
It would definitely be the lip liner [Lip Pencil in Stone]. That’s the one I’m losing the most, too. They are scattered all over my house. That’s in part why it was the base for creating the lip kit. I have worn this color for the last four or five years and have tried to find other brands that have a similar color if I don’t have “Stone” on me, but this is the coolest, most neutral, least amount of red in the world in a liner. If I could put clay on my mouth, I would.
What does “Brat Summer” look like for you?
Brat Summer? More like Brat Year! It has changed my life. If something isn’t the way I want it to be, or if I get too excited, or if I talk too much, if something I feel insecure about pops up in my head, I’m like ‘Oh, it doesn’t actually matter because it’s Brat Summer.’ For me, it’s living with no regrets and no mistakes; everything is fine.
