Yoon Ahn and Nike Celebrate Naomi Osaka With New Collection
Inspired by vintage school uniforms and classic collegiate styles.
Yoon Ahn and Nike just dropped the ultimate womenswear collection, with Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka at the forefront of the inspiration. Stepping onto the court for the U.S. Open, Osaka will be wearing a one-of-a-kind kit designed by Ahn for Nike. Including walk-on skirts and performance dresses, the kit also includes a green set for the day time and black for the night time.
“The inspiration that fueled the look for me — and this might be a Japanese term — is feeling like a ‘magical girl’ on the court,” Osaka says in a release. “There’s a moment of transformation for me when I walk onto the court, and I have a lot of fun playing, so wanting everyone who sees the outfit to connect with that feeling is a really big motivation for me,” she adds.

Osaka’s uniforms arrive along with a wider ready-to-wear collection from Nike Women and Yoon Ahn, inspired by vintage school uniforms, classic athleisurewear and collegiate styles. Standout pieces include a red, white and blue varsity jacket with an “N” shaped patch and Nike’s Swoosh, plus a maroon cardigan with a number “34” motif. Rounding out the collection is a selection of performance polos, sports bras and tennis skirts.
“We live in a girls’ world, and I wanted to embody that in Naomi’s on-court look as well as the collection,” explains Ahn. “For Naomi’s look, she brought forward a vision and it was my job as a designer to create something that she’ll feel confident and comfortable in when she walks onto the court, allowing her to bring 100% of herself. The collection is an extension of that idea, allowing women to bring out their character and enhance their own personal styles.”
The Nike Women by Yoon collection is now available for purchase via Nike.
