Axel Arigato Wants You to Take Life "At A Snail's Pace" This January

With a new campaign featuring life-sized, hand-molded snail shells.

Off the back of its life-sized holiday campaign, Swedish fashion label Axel Arigato continues exploring its love of nostalgia and childlike imagination. Evolving its unique visuals from 2024, the first campaign of the year once again draws inspiration from “the playful worlds created within shoeboxes,” this time introducing life-sized snail shells as a backdrop.

Paying tribute to the shells collected by creative director Jens Werner as a child, the “At A Snail’s Pace” campaign sees a collaboration with long-term brand partner and artist, Jon Buck. Crafting the life-sized shells from hand-molded clay and jesmonite, the campaign sees guests tucked away inside in a bid to represent whimsical cocoons and the slower pace of life that January brings.

“I wanted to bring a sense of fun and surprise to this campaign as we enter 2025. January is a time for peace, a moment to prepare for the months ahead,” explains Werner. “The image of snails kept coming to mind — a creature that embodies slowness and introspection. The idea evolved from my childhood memories of creating little worlds in shoeboxes, where I stored shells and small treasures. Working with Jon Buck, we transformed this whimsical idea into a tangible space for our guests to find solace after the rush of the festive season.”
