Café Kitsuné and Iittala Are Reimagining Your Morning Brew

With a collection of mugs in four coffee-inspired colorways.

Always on the lookout for the perfect mug for your morning brew? Café Kitsuné and Iittala are teaming up to give you just that. Combining Iittala’s Finnish design heritage with the cult coffee brand’s blend of Parisian style and Japanese simplicity, this limited-edition collection understands the importance of your morning coffee ritual.

Rooted in the spirit of Finnish designer Kaj Franck, the collection is built upon Iittala’s Teema model, using simplified forms and a functional shape. There’s no fuss, and the handle will actually fit your hand, no ridiculously tiny designs here. This is the perfect canvas for Café Kistuné’s signature latte art that decorates the ceramic in soft lines and swirls. The mugs are offered in four hues, “Matcha”, “Sakura”, “Cappuccino” and “Sesame,” each celebrating some of our favorite beverages. With these little pieces of art, the brands celebrate coffee as so much more than just a drink, but a ritual.

Easily stackable and purposely durable, the mugs pair seamlessly with the other Teema pieces, making it easy to expand your tableware collection and add some personality. To complement the collection, Café Kistuné is also presenting a limited-edition menu in its Paris and Tokyo locations for one month only. Curated to reflect the new mugs, you’ll find reimagined beverages including a silky Matcha Latte, a Black Sesame Latte, a foamed Cappuccino and an aromatic Sakura. Each drink is also paired with its own pastry and shortbread with patterns that mimic the collection’s designs, really giving us that all-encompassing experience. We may have to travel for this one.

The collection launches globally on October 16 at the Iittala and Café Kitsuné websites and in stores.
