Drake's Better World Fragrance House Launches First-Ever Eau de Parfum
Dubbed “Summer Mink.”
Better World Fragrance House, Drake‘s luxury candle brand, is introducing its first-ever eau de parfum, paradoxically dubbed “Summer Mink.” But, honestly, it’s everything we’d ever hope for and more.
Working side-by-side with world-renowned perfumer Michael Carby, of heritage Swiss brand Givaudan (the world’s largest fragrance maker) fame, Better World’s debut scent is all about embracing the unexpected. Like the name suggests, it has a summer feel and mimics a beachy breeze, immediately transporting you to a tropical destination, not unlike Drake’s favorite holiday spots. But it is also inspired by the feeling of “wearing mink,” which doesn’t exactly match the summer feel, right?
Sames goes for Carby and Drake’s blend. “‘Summer Mink’ was inspired by a yin-yang principle of fusing warm, creamy base notes with cold spices and sparkling citruses,” explains Carby in a press statement. “The ingredient composition was uniquely crafted to reflect a multinational culture with aspirations toward a better world.”
The gender-neutral perfume (or cologne) opens with refreshing top notes of Italian citrus, clary sage and petitgrain, giving off a fruity vibe. At the heart of it, jasmine sambac and rose oil sit to create that luxe “wearing a fur coat” feel. And at the base, vetiver, ambrofix and musk bring it all together.
