Jisoo Stars Against AI-Generated Dreamscapes for self-portrait

Marking her third team-up with Han Chong.

Jisoo is the latest to star in self-portrait‘s Pre-Fall campaign, captured in Seoul by Drew Vickers. Returning to the brand for a third time, the new visuals evolve the ongoing relationship between Jisoo and Han Chong, founder of self-portrait.

“Even with everything she’s achieved, there’s still a sense of mystery about her, and I think that’s what makes her such a compelling face for the brand,” Chong explains in a press release. “There’s a natural creative rhythm between us that makes each campaign feel like a continuation of a conversation we’re still having,” he adds.

Spotlighting signature pieces like gingham bandeaus, houndstooth mini skorts and beaded denim skirts, the campaign also highlights the signature Rattan Bow Basket bag.

Jisoo adds, “Working with Han and self-portrait is always really inspiring; I feel completely empowered to be myself while at the same time having the freedom to tap into the different sides of my personality and style. There is a real sense of trust between Han and I, and I feel with this new campaign we have dreamt up something really new and refreshing.”

The campaign is titled “Dreams of Past Lives,” and sees Vickers lean into his atmospheric use of AI to place Jisoo at the center of futuristic, AI-generated backdrops. Taking inspiration from the ’60s and results in a series of hyperreal and synthetic dreamscapes.

Speaking about the use of AI in the campaign, Chong explains, “We’ve always used our campaigns to tell stories – but working with Drew and this kind of technology let us blur the line between what’s real and what’s imagined. The AI wasn’t there to replace anything, but to build new worlds for Jisoo to inhabit. It felt like the perfect way to reflect the mood of the collection: familiar but surreal, nostalgic but completely new.”
