KATSEYE Announces New EP 'Beautiful Chaos'
Following their latest single, “Gnarly.”
HYBE and GEFFEN RECORDS announce the release of KATSEYE‘s second EP.
Releasing June 27, Beautiful Chaos is about “cultivating connection, up close and afar, in a world that moves too fast,” the press release stated. “Wearing lipstick with armor. Embracing the unknown.”
Much like their last EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), their next era creatively refers to the energy of meeting each other and forming KATSEYE. “After the world watched them compete and come together through HYBE and Geffen Records’ groundbreaking Dream Academy show and artist development program (and later, the Netflix docuseries, Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE), the idea of ‘beautiful chaos’ felt oddly comforting.”
The news releases alongside the project’s cover art, featuring each idol on a vintage car. Alternate cover lenses the girls in an aerial view, posing in a chaotic fruit market. The news follows the release of the EP’s first single, “Gnarly,” which left fans conflicted. In response, the girl group hilariously shared a TikTok implying, “it’s for the girls that get it.” However, the subsequent announcement of Beautiful Chaos proves they were 10 steps ahead.

Since the announcement, KATESYE’s Apple Music profile has featured the pending EP. The page hosts five unnamed slots, confirming the project will feature five songs. Beautiful Chaos is rumored to feature writing credits from Justin Tranter, Andrew Watt, John Ryan and Kristin Carpenter, who are responsible for industry hits like “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
