A Closer Look at Dua Lipa's Custom Chanel Couture Wedding Dress
Completely hand-embroidered with 480,000 intricate beads.
The wedding of the year just took place, with pop princess and vacation queen Dua Lipa tying the knot with Callum Turner. After lots of teasers and pre-wedding shots, we finally got a look at her wedding dress, and it did not disappoint.
As if we needed another reason to obsess over Dua Lipa, Chanel officially pulled back the curtain on the custom Haute Couture gown it created for the singer’s big day. Crafted inside the House’s legendary ateliers in Paris, the dress marks a pretty major moment for Chanel: it’s the first Haute Couture bridal look designed by Matthieu Blazy, one of the industry’s buzziest designers. Naturally, it was anything but understated.

The gown took couture craftsmanship to another level, featuring 480,000 hand-embroidered beads by Atelier Montex and trompe l’oeil jewel embellishments that required an eye-watering 1,155 hours of work by Lesage. Adding even more drama, the silhouette was finished with a two-meter train trimmed with 25,000 feathers by Lemarié.
And because one statement piece simply wasn’t enough, Dua paired the gown with a six-meter tulle veil adorned with matching beadwork, feathers and delicate organza appliqués for an ultra-romantic finish. Rounding out the look, heritage shoemaker Massaro created a pair of custom white satin pumps.
If there was ever a reminder that bridal fashion can still deliver full fantasy, Dua Lipa’s Chanel moment is it.
