A Closer Look at Nike’s “The 1 Reimagined” Pack: EXPLORER

Adventurous and utilitarian are the best words to describe the Explorer duo from Nike‘s “The 1 Reimagined” collection. As suggested by its name, the “EXPLORER XX” is designed especially for women who’re bold and fearless in different arenas of life. With these reworked Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 silhouettes, you’re empowered to try all things new, whether it be visiting a new city or picking up that hobby you’ve always wanted to master.
Priced between $145 USD and $150 USD, these two pairs will be available for purchase at Nike stores in North America on February 7, and on the SNKRS app on February 9. Air Force 1 loyalists will be able to appreciate this stunning rework of the iconic sneaker. Keeping its low-top form, the shoe is reconstructed with feminine materials and hard-to-miss design details. In particular, the laces are replaced by a lockdown strap that’s simultaneously stylish and functional. If you look closely, you’ll find that the midsole now sees a translucent layer, while the heel branding is updated with a simple AF-1 embroidered tag.
Drawing inspiration from military wear, the Air Jordan 1 “EXPLORER XX” features a laced-up boot silhouette that all cool girls would love. A translucent, mesh-like material and soft leather are employed to juxtapose with the rugged shape of the high-tops. Of course, you can find the classic Swoosh and Air Jordan wings logo gracing the lateral of the shoes.
