Meghan Markle Is Pregnant With Her First Child

She’s set to give birth in spring 2019.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married earlier this year in a ceremony that was viewed by the entire world, and now the Royal couple have announced that they’re expecting a child. Prince Harry previously noted that, “hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future,” after their engagement in November 2017, and now it looks like the two are getting started.

The child marks a historic moment in history, as Markle is not only American and a former actress, but she’s also biracial. After the news, people took to Twitter to congratulate the couple with messages like, “Meghan is pregnant this is not a drill we are going to have POC’s (Princes and Princesses of Colour) what a time to be ALIVE.” Their marriage has been revolutionary in giving the British royals a more modern and inclusive image, and the upcoming child will be seventh in line to the throne. The royal baby will not be titled a prince or a princess under current rules, though.

See the official announcement below, and make sure to stay tuned for any updates surrounding the baby.
