World-renowned tennis champion Maria Sharapova stars in the latest episode of Sneaker Shopping. Sharapova connected with Complex’s Joe La Puma at Nike‘s new NYC flagship. They both discuss her love for running in Nike’s Pegasus 35 and the unbeatable Cortez silhouette, breaking down her love of sneakers, street style and why she prefers sneakers over heels.
Sharapova shares she wears sneakers a lot, not only because she’s 6’2”, but also due to the fact that they are on-trend and comfortable. When speaking on the La Cortez design she collaborated with Nike on earlier this year, she shared:
“I love its price point and I love that it’s so chic. In a world of where chunky and loud is so on-trend at the moment, I feel like the Cortez sums it up in a very nice way that’s elegant, timeless and so classic.”
