Gifting season is in full-swing but if you’re stuck finding the perfect gift for that hip-hop obsessed friend or family member of yours, look no further than RAP365: the 2019 rap calendar.
Back for its third year, the calendar created by Canadian artists Mega McGrath and Lauren Coutts celebrates the longstanding history of rap. Instead of the traditional calendar format, marking important international holidays and historical dates, RAP365 denotes anniversaries in the world of rap, like the date that Cardi B released “Bodak Yellow,” Prince’s birthday and when Aaliyah dropped her debut album ‘Age Ain’t Nothin’ But a Number.’
This year, McGrath and Coutts tapped a whole roster of international creatives to pull together the signature graphics that reference lyrics from some of the most iconic songs in hip-hop and rap. Artists and illustrators include L.A.’s Jacob Rochester, Vancouver’s Nina Chwelos and London-based Yaseen Faik to name just a few.
