Up next in our new series “#hypebaekicks Review,” we’re taking a look at the highly coveted Air Jordan 1 Retro High in “Sunset Tint” from the “Season of Her” collection. THE SHOE: Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Sunset Tint”
OUR REVIEW: Firstly, I must admit that I’ve wanted a pair of Air Jordan 1 Retro High’s for a while. The design is undoubtedly one of Jordan Brand‘s greatest designs — it’s clean cut and simply unforgettable. When I first saw this pack on social media, I became interested in the silhouette when I saw the millennial pink pair. This particular shade is ideal for someone who still hasn’t grown tired of this color phenomenon.
The kicks are crafted with light pink suede and satin on the upper. Photos simply don’t do the hue justice. To be honest, the colorway in my opinion is a bit difficult to wear in the middle of winter. I have hope though that with the forthcoming spring weather, I’ll be able to wear them with brighter looks. The first time I tried them on, I was shocked at how light the pair felt. They’re not heavy at all like I imaged they would be. The fit is true to size, so I wouldn’t go down or up a size as some websites suggest for the perfect fit.
Detailing on the “Sunset Tint” includes an embroidered Nike Swoosh in pink on both sides of the sneaker, an Air Jordan “Wings” logo on the ankle collar and matching laces. The tonal stitching throughout the design is expertly done. Lastly, I love how the satin on the upper is in a bit of a lighter tone than the suede. The iteration is perfect for those who obsess over the Air Jordan 1 Retro High’s timeless silhouette. In total, the only downside to these kicks is how easily the delicate materials stain. I’ve only worn them about five times and have gotten minor stains on the satin upper and back portion.
