By now we’re sure you haven’t missed the latest Internet phenomenon Lil Miquela – the AI influencer amassing over a million followers on Instagram. She’s been recognized by the likes of Pat McGrath, and has made headlines recently after it appeared the social media profile was hacked by another AI influencer. Yes, you read that right. We’re living in the future and we’re not sure how to feel about it.

The team behind the AI influencer has reportedly just received $6 million USD in funding from Silicon Valley firms to fuel their work. Brud, the company behind the creation, has been playing a social media monopoly, having another one of their AI profiles attack Lil Miquela in order to create more media attention. Whether it is right or not, it has certainly worked. We’re sure that this is only the beginning for Lil Miquela, and she for sure won’t be the last AI influencer.
