Molly Goddard Wins Prestigious BFC/British Vogue Fashion Fund 2018 Award

British designer Molly Goddard has been announced as the winner of the 2018 BFC/British Vogue Fashion Fund. Her unique design work has gained traction within the past few years since her line’s launch in 2014. The winning package consisted of £200,000 EUR (approx. $240,000 USD) and a 12-month-long mentorship. A few of Goddard’s top competitor’s were Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida of Marques Almeida and Samantha McCoach of Le Kilt.
The designer’s rise to stardom has consisted of countless celebrity fans including Rihanna, SZA and Chloe Sevigny. Her design cues have focused tremendously on tulle throughout the years, but in her recent Fall 2018 collection, she introduced mini dresses, elegant party dresses and tonal separates.
In an exclusive statement, British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful shared:
“Molly Goddard is an original. She has a singular vision and an extraordinary focus that has propelled her label to an international level. A playful edge and a strong DNA make for a singularly off-beat formula. She is the definition of talent and what Britain does best in this creative industry.”
