Check out Wires, Lily Cole's New Sustainable Eyewear Brand
Supermodel-approved sunnies.
Between gracing the pages of glossy magazines and appearing on the silver screen, British model and actress Lily Cole is noted for her commitment to campaigning for humanitarian and environmental causes. It seems fitting then that Cole has combined her love for fashion with her advocacy for sustainability in the release of a new eyewear brand titled Wires.
Co-founded by Cole and Yair Neuman in London, the brand intends to shift how eyewear is both created and worn through the use of innovative materials and sustainable design. The unisex products are all handmade by a family business in the stunning Italian Dolomites and 3D printing technology is utilized to produce lens rims and frames which results in a substantially smaller amount of waste.
When it comes to sustainable products, there’s always the fear that the items just don’t look as stylish in comparison to others on the market but this isn’t the case with Wires. The 2.0 collection features a selection of trend-led pieces that includes a circular silhouette with tinted yellow lenses, teardrop-esque styles and a futuristic half-moon shape that will be a standout accessory come fashion week.
Get a closer look at some of the Wires 2.0 collection in the gallery above – you can shop the range at Wires’ web store or in-store at London’s Selfridges during the Wires pop-up which runs from July 9 – July 15.
