Kiko Kostadinov Gives Oakley's Shades a Feathered Makeover
Taking cues from birdwatching and the outdoors.
Kiko Kostadinov is taking Oakley’s Ellipse into the wild. For its latest collaboration, the brand teamed up with Laura and Deanna Fanning, the twin sisters behind Kiko Kostadinov Women, to give the signature frame a nature-inspired makeover.
First debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway in March as part of the label’s FW26 collection, the limited-edition Ellipse takes its visual cues from the collection’s fascination with birdwatching and the outdoors. The Fanning sisters looked to Cindy Sherman’s 1992 Fitcher’s Bird photographic essay, translating the richness of feathers and natural textures into custom treatments for Oakley’s frames.
The result puts an unexpected spin on the Ellipse, blending Oakley’s design language with references to its ’90s archive. The curved, circular shape nods to the brand’s logo, while the new finishes bring a more organic feel to the retro-futuristic silhouette. The collaboration arrives in two colorways: “Amherst Fade,” paired with “Prizm Bronze” lenses, and “Woodgrain,” which exaggerates the look of natural textures across the frame.
The limited-edition Oakley x Kiko Kostadinov Ellipse shades are now available via the Kiko Kostadinov and Oakley websites.
