Here's Your First Look at Raf Simons's New adidas Detroit Runners
Dropping in six colorways.
Following on from the reveal of the chrome-dipped Ozweegos that debuted at Raf Simons’ SS19 show at Paris Fashion Week, adidas has confirmed that it’s dropping another metallic silhouette – the Detroit Runner. The sneaker, which was first introduced in Fall/Winter 2017, continues the shiny, chromatic theme as well as the chunky feel of the Ozweegos, but with a distinctively sleeker shape.
The Detroit Runners are constructed from a classic, durable canvas upper which boasts similarities to Converse’s Chuck Taylors in terms of both finish and silhouette. Upon the lateral side, there’s a small RS insignia toward the heel and a rubber toe cap with tonal laces and stitching throughout. To contrast, there’s a bulky, futuristic midsole with a gleaming, silvery panel separating the canvas from the sole.
The runners will be dropping in six core coloways – olive green with a pink sole, grey with a red sole and navy denim with a grey sole, as well as classic black, grey and white options. Take a closer look at the kicks above – you can shop the Raf Simons x adidas Detroit Runners at select Three Stripe accounts, including HBX, from August 30.
