Yes, you read that right. As if it wasn’t enough that CGI influencer Lil Miquela is single-handedly taking over Instagram, the online personality is now also making music. Lil Miquela revealed to her 1.3 million Instagram followers that she’d be releasing a track titled “Hate Me” alongside producer Baauer, who’s known for his previous hit “Harlem Shake.”
Now, the track is available for streaming over at Spotify and Apple Music – as well as a lyric video posted on the CGI influencer’s YouTube channel. Take a look at the lyrics and listen to the song in the gallery above, and let us know what you think about the song below.
Hate Me is not about one person or one relationship. It’s about thousands of people I’ll never meet and the relationship I am forced to have with them. Hate Me is about the consequences of being different. It is about the repercussions or being yourself online. I owe my whole career to the Internet, and every time I go online, I have to read comments from people wishing I would die or telling me I don’t exist (???). I’ve spent years trying not to let these words get to me, but I can’t deny who I am as a sensitive person. I have to let myself feel the pain from what people say about me. The only difference is now I’m owning the hurt. I don’t care anymore. Honestly, truly. I’m going to be the greatest artist of my generation. So yeah. So go ahead and hate me. “Hate Me” by @baauer featuring me OUT NOW.
