'Crazy Rich Asians' Just Topped the Weekend Box Office
With $34 Million USD.
The anticipated movie take on Kevin Kwan’s exciting novel Crazy Rich Asians is finally here, and after its debut this past weekend the movie has raked in $34 million USD from a five-day total. Not only has the film been a smash hit, the production also makes history as the first Hollywood-produced film to feature an all-Asian casts in lead roles since The Joy Luck Club.
Featuring names like Constance Wu, Awkwafina and Michelle Yeoh, and has overtaken Mark Wahlberg’s Mile 22, as well as beating out movies like Game Night and Blockers which came in at $17 and $20.5 million USD respectively.
