Dr. Woo's New Converse Chuck 70s Change Color as You Wear Them

You’ll have to wait for the big reveal.

Celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo has teamed up with Converse presenting four unique colorways of the Chuck 70. Evolution serves as the inspiration behind the shoe’s design with each revealing a new shade after some wear.

With each wear of the shoe its upper will begin to transform into brilliant shades like “Sunset Gold” and “Green Absinthe.” The graphics revealed are inspired by vintage off-road vehicles showcased by the canvas stretched over the sneaker. A transparent outsole featuring Woo’s signature eye motif completes the silhouette. He shares the vision behind the project: “The shoe is a culmination of all things that I love – vintage, the wearing in of your own clothes, how it keeps developing, transitioning, and how the Chuck, specifically, can stay in your life so long.”

The black and white pairs are joined by two youth styles in “Horizon Blue” and “Mellon.” Each colorway will arrive with three sets of laces that come in complementary shades. The capsule will also include a Coaches Jacket made from waterproof GORE-TEX fabric. Dr. Woo’s embroidered artwork can be found on the back.

Shoppers will be able to pick up items from this collaboration on September 6 at converse.com and select retailers. The Chuck 70 retails for $65 USD and the jacket will be available for $350 USD. Take a closer look at the haul above and let us know your thoughts.
