Take a Look at John Mayer's Tie-Dye Off-White™ x Nike Air Presto
Virgil Abloh declares him a front runner in the brand’s custom contest.
The shoe’s all-white upper is covered in a gradient of pink, purple, blue and yellow. The collage of color was created by Online Ceramics who choose to keep the laces and midsole white for contrast. Mayer sent a photo of the pair to Virgil Abloh and was instantly added into the running for Off-White™’s contest which ranks the best amateur custom designs. Using the tag #readymadeoffwhite, fans will be able to show off their own creations and possibly be reposted by the brand.
Take a look at Mayer’s iteration above and let us know if you plan to cop this colorway below.
there is the rather large “orange 3-ring binder” that’s in the Off-White™ office in Milan that we drew a Nike swoosh on. in it is all the Nike experiments past, current and future we’re doing. under the section “The 10” the initial concept of the sub-brand of Off-White™ c/o @Nike was to define one of many open spaces of contemporary sneaker design. under the premise that design is merely an object and not coveted until a human has a moment with it we originally wanted everyone to write their name on their pair, or dye their pair their favorite color. here’s a perfect example of the new white prestos we love. photograph c/o @sizetenplease @massimo.taylor our the Italian office is closed all of August so we’d like to see someone do a pair tye-dye a pair next or we would do it ourselves. use the hashtag #readymadeoffwhite Off-White™ c/o @Nike where “you can JUST DO IT too”.
