KitKat Japan Celebrates 2020 Tokyo Olympics With New Caramel-Banana Flavor

Wrapped in gold.

In collaboration with popular Japanese snack Tokyo Banana, KitKat Japan has launched a new flavor celebrating the upcoming 2020 Olympics. “Gold Caramel Tokyo Banana Flavor” will come packaged in — you guessed it — gold wrapping, as an encouragement for Japanese athletes to win big in the 2020 Tokyo games.

The mini wafer bars are coated in banana-flavored white chocolate. Caramel powder adds an additional boost of flavor. As a finishing touch, KitKat and Tokyo Banana branding is stamped on the top of each bar.

KitKat Japan’s Gold Caramel Tokyo Banana flavor comes in boxes of eight or 15 and retail for $6 and $12 USD, respectively. The candy is currently only available at Tokyo Okashi Land at Tokyo Station till January 8. Afterward, they’ll be sold at additional tourist spots throughout Tokyo.
