Louis Vuitton Unveils Its Pre-Fall 2019 Men's Lookbook

Virgil Abloh explores the theme of boyhood for the range.

Louis Vuitton has shared the official lookbook for its Pre-Fall 2019 Men’s lookbook. Virgil Abloh tackles his next design project choosing the theme of boyhood as his inspiration. Each of the silhouettes and shapes reference the Japanese cultural aesthetic weaving in “protective” accessories for added utility.

The range includes windbreakers, T-shirts and parkas that feature Japanese graphics and embroidery. Abloh continues to merge accessories and garments ushering in a new design standard for functional clothing. He calls the process of combining the two “compressomorphosis,” one of the many new phrases in his new vocabulary. The photo spread also teases new bag styles featuring a tote bag and backpack that could be used in sport. Footwear like the brand’s hiking boots and the reptile-skin sneakers complete the line.

Scroll through the full lookbook above and peep the storyboard for the line voiced by Abloh himself below.
