Take a Look Inside Our Legacy's First Womenswear Store
Located in Stockholm’s iconic NK department store.
Cult Stockholm-based label Our Legacy unveiled its highly-anticipated debut womenswear collection last season. Now, in accordance with the launch of the SS19 collection the brand has revealed its first-ever dedicated womenswear store in its home city.
Housed within Sweden’s iconic department store, Nordiska Kompaniet, Our Legacy’s space has been designed in collaboration with renowned architectural firm Arrhov / Frick. True to the brand’s identity, the bright and airy space features futuristic stainless steel and concrete detailing and a minimalistic color palette, allowing the apparel, footwear and accessories to fully take center stage. Discussing the interior of the new outpost Jockum Hallin, co-founder of Our Legacy, shared:
“The stainless steel, concrete and acrylic glass interiors contrast a fitting room and sitting area that mirrors the feeling of a ’70s TV-room, where wood, leather and rugs create a warm organic cocoon. The floor is made from up-cycled stone from the Borghamn quarry, every tile unique, laid by hand like an enormous marble puzzle. Swedish artists such as Jakob Solgren, Hank Grüner, Jonatan Nilsson and Frida Peterson have contributed with works and custom craft. The silk drapes which create an intimate, private feeling inside Sweden’s most known department store are made by our long-term collaborator, fabric artist Akane Moriyama.
The store represents the Our Legacy ethos, being progressive, artisanal and at the same time somewhat recognizable.”
