230 New Emojis Are Set to Release This Year

Including a pinching hand, wheelchair and ballet slipper.

Unicode Consortium has shared a preview of the 230 new emojis that will be released this year. Some notable additions to the icon database include a flamingo, pinching hand and Hindu temple. The holding-hands couple options have been expanded with more female representation and six new skin tones available. Wheel chair users are now also represented in the full range of skin tones along with a motorized wheelchair alternative. Those who have a love for food emojis will be able to text out a waffle, garlic, onion and butter plate.

This collection marks the sixth major emoji update since 2014. The new icons will be released in March for all phone systems. Preview the new emojis above and take a full look at Emojipedia.
