The dad shoe trend is still going strong, as proven by the latest addition to Axel Arigato‘s roster – the Marathon Runner. Fittingly inspired by ’90s running shoes and the retro, technical aesthetic that’s still favoured by street style stars across the world.
In keeping with the Swedish brand’s values, the unisex silhouette is comprised from premium materials, boasting a calf leather and wide-weave mesh upper. The look, while inspired by the past, is decidedly modern thanks to the sleek and minimal finish. Of course, no chunky sneaker is complete without an oversized midsole. The Marathon Runner’s come in the form of a unique design that’s crafted from two different densities of thermoplastic rubber – a lighter one for the midsole and a more durable version for the outsole.
The Marathon Runner will be your go-to shoe through the seasonal transition this year. The debut drop will include four colorways; white and silver, white and orange, black and orange and black and red, with newer colorways set to release later in the year.
