Nike's Classic Air Force 1 Receives a New Wave of Seasonal Treatments
Featuring the Shadow, Shell and Reflective silhouettes.
Nike‘s timeless Air Force 1 has just received three new seasonal updates just in time for the holidays. Coming in the Shadow, Shell and Reflective silhouettes, each pair of sneakers is led by a female perspective. Senior Creative Director of Nike Women’s Footwear Georgina James comments on the Swoosh brand’s new initiative saying:
“We know women are infinitely diverse. They want something unique, and they want to use sneakers as an expression of themselves and their wardrobes. They also have deep respect and love for the icon. Air Force 1 Shadow is a great example of how we channel desire and create new expressions through silhouette, shape and details, something unique but still familiar each season.”
The Shadow’s design takes inspiration from women who set examples in their local communities as “forces of change” along with a bold colorway that represents how daring women are and how they continuously strive from excellence. As for the AF1 Shell, the high-top’s layout comes from a water-resistant hooded jacket and has been incorporated with cording details that allow you to adjust its fit to your liking. Lastly, the AF1 Reflective arrives in a mixture of pebbled leather with 3M to create visibility in low winter light.
Nike’s AF1 Shadow is slated to release on October 3 while the Shell launches on November 1, and the Reflective debuts later this year on December 1. In the meantime, check out the International Girl Crew x Nike limited-edition customizable sneakers.
