You Can Work Remotely From This Amusement Park in Tokyo, Japan

By a swimming pool or on a Ferris wheel.

As the coronavirus pandemic persists, companies like Google and Twitter have announced that their employees will be able to work from home indefinitely. Providing a day away from home, an amusement park in Tokyo has launched a new campaign to allow people to work from its rides and attractions.

With businesses struggling to find ways to survive during this time where consumers are refusing to spend on non-essential products, Yomiuriland is introducing its latest initiative, titled “Amusement Work.” For those needing a day away from home, the park is opening some of its sites, allowing people to sit by the pool or in the Ferris wheel to work remotely. Each spot will be equipped with power and Wi-Fi for a WFH day with a view. Guests can rent out a private gondola for an hour, along with a pocket device for wireless service.

Priced at ¥1,900 JPY (approximately $18 USD) on the weekdays and ¥2,000 JPY (approximately $19 USD) for the weekend, a ticket includes admission to the park, a table at the poolside area, power, Wi-Fi and an hour-long ride on the Ferris wheel, along with other services like free parking. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the park is limiting each spot to two guests at a time.

Head over to Yomiuriland’s website to learn more about the “Amusement Work” campaign.
