Valentino Introduces 'Empathy' Campaign for FW20/21 Collection

A charitable initiative for the Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in Rome.

For Valentino‘s Fall/Winter 2020/2021 collection, the brand has introduced ‘#ValentinoEmpathy’, a heartfelt campaign and collection created for a new world that is social distancing. Brought to life by Valentino’s Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the campaign is simultaneously a charity project donating 1 million euros to the Italian Lazzaro Spallanzani Hospital in Rome.

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s empathy-inspired special project celebrates a society with no place, boundaries or categories, a society widely different to the world’s current circumstances. From this ideology comes Valentino’s new Women and Men’s FW20/21 advertising campaign, shot in places where acclaimed artists are living with their loved ones.

All talent – including names such as Naomi Campbell, Liu Wen, Christy Turlington, Tali Lennox, Ghali, Leon Dame and others – will be captured wearing a look from the upcoming collection. The end project will be a different seasonal advertising campaign consisting of portraits, with each portrait being taken by someone that they have been sharing time and space with during lockdown.

Valentino Garavani ‘Atelier’ accessories will come as part of this collection. The Atelier Bag Valentino Garavani 03 Rose Edition bags have been crafted using iconic couture techniques and an obsession for detail. 10.5 hours of workmanship has gone into the completion of each bag.

Check out the campaign imagery in the gallery above and head to Valentino’s website to learn more about the project.
