Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Cast in 'Wicked' Musical

They will portray Glinda and Elphaba respectively.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have both taken to their Instagram accounts to announce that they are set to star in Universal Pictures’ Wicked musical.

The big-screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning hit Broadway show will be led by Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights director Jon M. Chu. “Thank goodness,” Grande captioned her post with images of her gushing over the news on a Zoom call with Chu and Erivo. “Pink goes good with Green,” Erivo wrote on her page.

The film is still in development and production is scheduled to commence in the U.K. next summer. Erivo will play the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba, while Grande will portray Glinda the Good Witch.

Stay tuned while we wait for Universal to disclose more details about the movie.
