MOCA and Vans Celebrate LA Culture With Holiday Collab
These kicks are true works of art.
Vans and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) celebrate Los Angeles culture with a limited-edition capsule collection. Releasing just in time for the Holiday 2021 season, the vibrant footwear and apparel range marks the second part of the MOCA x Vans partnership. In October, the Anaheim skate brand released a four-part collection in collaboration with MOCA and artists Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar.
MOCA x Vans Holiday ‘21 features artworks by the legendary painter and muralist Dr. Judy Baca, specifically her well-known work “Hitting the Wall, Women in the Marathon“ — a mural commissioned in 1984 in honor of the first time women were allowed to compete in an Olympic marathon. Dr. Baca’s “The World Wall: Triumph of the Hearts” also appears on a collaborative hoodie and tee.
Meanwhile, abstract artist Brenna Youngblood’s work is applied to a Vans Authentic silhouette and Classic Slip-On. A hand-drawn map by Frances Stark appears on an Old Skool, matching tee and crewneck.
Shop the MOCA x Vans Holiday 2021 collab at Vans’ website and stores, as well as the MOCA on November 12.
