Lucas Zanotto Brings Animated Characters to Life in First Solo Exhibition, "MOODS"
The award-winning artist’s kinetic characters can now be experienced in person.
Lucas Zanotto, the artist who has taken the social media world by storm with his affable geometric characters, is holding his first solo exhibition “MOODS” in collaboration with M:87 and Acute Art. The googly-eyed sculptures featured in animated loops are now available in person, having been predominantly part of the NFT world.
The exhibition space will be divided into seven zones showcasing different mediums CGI animations, sculptures, AR artwork and more. The immersive experience begins with six-meter tall character balloons greeting visitors in the courtyard, followed by the building’s nine arches displaying the artist’s kinetic videos. Observant visitors will be able to spot Zanotto’s iconic “eyes” peeking through the windows and curtains all through the back of the hall, where a black box is situated. Within its walls lie more animations, providing the public with a stimulating audiovisual experience.
“MOODS” also comes with 50 limited-edition sets of sculptures for enthusiasts to take home. The collection is comprised of five signature characters: “Ehhh,” “Ohhh,” “Mhhh,” “Uhhh” and Ahhh.” A monochromatic wooden version of the capsule, limited to 20 pieces, is also available on a first come first serve basis.
Other merchandise can also be copped on M:87’s website and WeChat page. The exhibition will be held from December 28, 2021 to January 23, 2022 on weekdays excluding Mondays.
