House of Aama's FW22 Collection Explores African Folklore Narratives
Taking inspiration from the bloodroot herb, symbolic of a powerful guardian.
House of Aama‘s Fall/Winter 2022 “Bloodroot Into the Archives” collection expands on the brand’s “Heritage Bloodroot” line presented back in 2017, featuring its knack for storytelling and timeless silhouettes.
The range pays tribute to African heritage and Southern Creole spirituality, deriving its inspiration from the rare herb bloodroot — symbolic of a powerful guardian protecting the family. Victorian lace dresses, pussybow blouses and military workwear span the range in a muted color palette. Elsewhere, archival patterns make a comeback, representing folklore archetypes such as the Rootworker, Southern lady and the Bluesman.
The “Bloodroot Into the Archives” capsule is expected to drop on House of Aama’s website in the next few weeks. Peep the lookbook above.
