Admitting that Selina Kylie had a “romantic relationship” with another character.
Zoë Kravitz has revealed that she depicted her Catwoman/Selina Kylie character in The Batman as bisexual.
In a recent interview with Pedestrian, the actor shared that she saw more to Selina and Anika’s — a character in the film who is referred to as her “friend” — relationship. “That’s definitely the way I interpreted that, that they had some kind of romantic relationship,” Kravitz said.
Meanwhile, director Matt Reeves shared that The Batman is “very true to the character of Selina Kyle.” “She’s not yet Catwoman, but all the elements of how she’s going to become Catwoman are there,” he added. Early on, Reeves had a chat with Kravitz regarding Selina and Anika’s relationship, to which the Big Little Lies star commented on, saying: “She’s drawn to strays because she was a stray and so she really wants to care for these strays because she doesn’t want to be that way anymore, and Anika is like a stray and she loves her.”
The Batman will officially premiere in theaters on March 4. In case you missed it, here’s a closer look at Kravitz’s cat-themed corset gown at the NYC premiere of the movie.
