Harry Styles and Florence Pugh Get Steamy in 'Don't Worry Darling' Sneak Peek
Here’s what you can expect from the forthcoming psychological thriller.
Harry Styles and Florence Pugh are not playing when it comes to their upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling.
During CinemaCon, Olivia Wilde, who directed the film, gave the audience an exclusive sneak peek of the movie. According to Variety, “the footage opens on Styles and Pugh’s characters snuggling in bed. They play a husband and wife living in an idyllic experimental community in the California desert, lined with perfectly placed palm trees and fancy cars.”
The scene gives viewers a glimpse into the dynamic of their relationship, which seemingly lacks trust. Another scene shows Styles and Pugh’s characters having sex against a sink with Chris Pine’s character in the same room.
Don’t Worry Darling is inspired by a variety of movies, such as The Matrix, Inception, The Truman Show. Wilde describes the film as “a love letter to movies that push the boundaries of our imagination.”
Additionally, she painted a picture to the crowd at CinemaCon. “I want you to imagine a life where you have everything you could want,” she said. “Not just material, tangible things … like a beautiful house, perfect weather and gorgeous cars. But also the things that really matter, like true love or the perfect partner or real trusted friendships and a purpose that feels meaningful.”
Wilde asked, “What would it take for you to give up that life, that perfect life. What are you really willing to sacrifice to do what’s right? Are you willing to dismantle the system that’s designed to serve you?”
Don’t Worry Darling is slated to hit theaters on September 23. Check out a still of Styles and Pugh below.
