Rebel Wilson Goes Back to High School as a 37-Year-Old in 'Senior Year' Comedy
The movie is slated to premiere on Netflix next month.
Netflix‘s new high school comedy film Senior Year is landing on its platform this May starring Rebel Wilson.
The 42-year-old actor portrays Stephanie, who was Harding High School’s most popular cheerleader in 2002. However, after falling from a pyramid stunt during her senior year, Stephanie finds herself in a 20-year-long coma. After finally waking up, Stephanie realizes she never got her full senior year experience.
“Everybody else has gotten to go on and live their lives, and what? I’m supposed to just jump forward? I mean, I just found out there are eight more Fast & Furious movies!” Stephanie says in the trailer. “I wanna go back to school, finish my senior year… High school was just like yesterday for me, it won’t be weird.”
With the aim to claim her status back and be crowned prom queen, Stephanie embarks on an unusual journey of self-discovery amid an entirely new generation of teenagers. ”I’m gonna do something that I wish I had the confidence to do 20 years ago: be my real self,” she says.
Directed by Alex Hardcastle, the movie also features Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland, Justin Hartley, Chris Parnell, Angourie Rice, Michael Cimino, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Brandon Scott Jones and Alicia Silverstone.
